Damage is pegged at $30,000 following a small house fire in Chatham.
Crews were called to a home on Highland Drive in Chatham just before 12:30 yesterday afternoon.
The blaze was contained to one room, keeping damage to a minimum.
Authorities say working smoke alarms in the home helped to alert the owner and everyone managed to get out safely.
Two cats were located by fire fighters and returned to their owners.
