Listen in all this week at 3:40 during WEEKDAZE with JAY & C-P as we feature MURRAY WILLIAMS on the XS Local Spotlight!
Murray has been on the country music scene since the early 80’s.
Over the years he has shared the stage with many well known country artists such as Thomas Wade, The Good Brothers, Crystal Gage, Terry Sumsion and The Wilkinsons.
The past few years have been busy for this unique country artist. His music has been featured on several radio stations throughout the world. His debut single “Thank a Farmer” was a top 10 hit on the ECMA country music charts in Europe where it stayed in the top 100 for 20 weeks. Murray is a multi talented musician whose talents include lead, rythm, bass guitar and piano. Murray is a talented songwriter, who self penned all of the tracks on his debut CD “Pure and Simple”.
Rodney Williams (Drums) is the youngest member of the band. He keeps the old timers awake on the long ride home from the show. Though he is only 15, he has a lot of experience under his belt. He started performing on stage with his dad “Murray” at the age of 9. Rod has performed at many large fairs and festivals in the past two years. He has performed on the same stage as the legendary Lighthouse, Crowbar and the 2007 CMT Karaoke star winner Crystal Gage. Rod has amazed his fans in huge venues such as the OAAS convention at the historical “Royal York Hotel” in front of thousands. Most young musicians make their start playing in front of a few people at family get togethers. Rod made his start performing shows most musicians can only dream of. He continues to amaze at every show. Rod is currently working in the studio putting together ideas for the next CD.
