Union Gas is helping out the Chatham-Kent Hospice Volunteer Program to the tune of $20,000.
According to hospice officials the funds will help support the 200 active volunteers who staff the facility.
“Whether it’s working together on infrastructure projects, contributing as leaders in the business community or supporting local charities and non-profit groups, Union Gas feels strongly about working with our neighbours to make our great communities even better,” said Steve Baker, president, Union Gas. “We support the Chatham-Kent Hospice and the volunteer network initiatives as they are critical to making a real and lasting contribution to our community.”
Running the hospice isn’t cheap and requires $100,000 in donations each month to support the day-to-day operations.
The 10-bed end of life care facility has provided service to over 510 families since opening two and a half years ago.
