Former Mayoral Candidate Headed to Court In Chatham

A man whose name was on the ballot for Mayor of Chatham-Kent just two months ago will be in a Chatham court room Wednesday.

Convinced there was wrong doing in the balloting in Ward 1, Robert Powers who finished a distant 5th out of the six candidates, filed an appeal back in November challenging the results of the Councillor’s race.

According to court documents the challenge centers on the validity of some of the ballots as to where they were cast.

The issue will be heard in superior court on Wednesday.
