Two Dead After Car Found in Lake Erie

Two people have died after emergency officials spotted a vehicle in Lake Erie.

Essex OPP say on Tuesday, Essex-Windsor EMS, the Kingsville Fire Department, and a US Coast Guard helicopter arrived at the scene at Colchester Harbour. A local towing company was able to remove the vehicle by using a nearby boat launch ramp.

The two occupants in the vehicle – a 56-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman – both from Windsor –  were taken to hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Members of the Essex County Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue to investigate the circumstances of the deaths.
