Turning Down The Heat

A Wyoming school is challenging students across the region to help fight climate change.

Tomorrow is National Sweater Day, a campaign organized by the World Wildlife Fund.

The idea is to wear a sweater – or other extra layers of clothing – and turn down the heat in their homes, schools, and offices.

Officials say every Canadian turned down the thermostat by two degrees Celsius each winter, carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by 2.2 megatonnes – the equivalent of taking 350,000 cars off the road.

Holy Rosary Catholic School in Wyoming is now encouraging other schools in the area to join the campaign.
