Water Rates Going Up

Chatham-Kent residents will soon be paying more for their tap water.

Water rates will rise from $1.25 to $1.30 per cubic meter, while the water fixed charge will increase a dollar.

Wastewater will rise nine cents to $1.24, and the fixed rate will be increasing $2.00 from $24.50 to $26.50.

PUC officials say Chatham-Kent’s rates are in the middle of the pack when compared to surrounding communities.
