If you’ve ever wanted to speak French fluently, language classes could be coming to downtown Chatham soon.
Collège Boréal currently offers immigration services, but hopes to begin French language classes if there’s enough community interest.
Manager of Settlement Services Keren Mendez explains their approach to teaching.
“Our classes very unique. They are focused on the speaking portion of the language, and this is something we definitely focus on in our classes. They’re delivered in a way where you mostly speak during the class,” says Mendez.
Mendez says there’s been a lot of interest from the business community so far.
“We have recently entered into an agreement to deliver French language training to a employees of a major employer in Chatham. We’ll also be delivering French language training to a local governmental organization in Chatham, so we’ve identified already some interest from organizations and employers,” Mendez explains.
When it comes to classes for the general public, Mendez says they are hoping to bring that program to Chatham soon as they are already offering language classes in Windsor.
