Dozens of Charges Laid in “Project Fresh”

Another major drug bust for Chatham-Kent Police.

Over the past six months, intelligence officers have been gathering information on criminal activity in the municipality – on Tuesday, seven people were arrested in connection with what’s been dubbed “Project Fresh.”

The accused, who range in age from 24 to 66, are facing an assortment of trafficking and drug possession offences.

Another four people were taken into custody following the search of a Thames Street apartment in Chatham.

Inspector Trevor Crane says while the arrest are significant, it’s a continuing battle to fight the flow of drugs and property crimes in the community.
