It’s going to cost about $2,000 to test out Mayor Canniff’s roaming council idea.
On October 7th, a regular council meeting will be held in Tilbury, giving rural residents and opportunity to attend a meeting close to home.
Canniff says his idea, which he calls a step forward for inclusion, is being well received in council chambers.
“It’s great to see pretty much unanimous support for it, it goes to show how much council wants to bring Chatham-Kent together,” Canniff says. “We want everyone in Chatham-Kent feeling part of the community.”
The outcome of the pilot meeting will determine how often council meetings will be held outside of the Civic Centre.
