The second and final day of a job fair at Whyte’s Foods.
The new Wallaceburg pickle processing plant will be screening applicants at its Baseline Road facility from noon until 7pm today.
The company is looking to fill close to 100 positions, including a forklift operator, general labour, machine operators, and a few office positions.
Claude Briere, Whyte’s VP of sales says the plant is coming together.
“The renovations are going extremely well, renovations are on time, the equipment is starting to come in soon,” Briere says. “We’re very close to our schedule and very happy to see where we’re going.”
This is the first of two part hiring phases, focusing on employment in June and July. The second round will be announced at a later date as the company prepares for the fall.
