Environment Canada says Chatham-Kent can expect an extended heat warning for the region, which is kind of expected this time of year.

But the municipality is looking beyond the pool hours or splash pads.

Staff are looking for your input on snow removal and sidewalk care.

“We definitely have to get contracts in place by the wintertime, so we have to do those in the summer and fall to get them ready for winter,” says Ryan Brown, Director of Public Works.

“I understand talking about snow this time of year probably isn’t the most popular subject but the reality of it is we are looking at how we will comply with these new regulations that came down from the province last summer and so we are looking from input from the public on how we are going to achieve those.”

Public Works has launched a survey on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website asking residents what level of service is preferred and amount they are prepared to pay for the service level of their choice.

A public meeting will be held on July 29th.
