New life is being breathed into Chatham’s former Target store.
The vacant building in the Thames Lea Plaza will soon be home to a new grocery store.
Windsor-based M.R. Meat Market is teaming up the owner of Toscana Restaurant to open a 15,000 square foot market-style store, featuring bakery, deli, produce, sushi, and fresh meat.
In a joint statement, the owners say the new location will be the first of many under the Mercato Fresh brand, and will be making its presence felt in the community.
“Our corporate philosophy has always been to give back and this will continue in the Chatham community. We will be powerful supporters of many local initiatives and charities as we believe that being local is supporting local.”
The store is expected to open in October.
