The Annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference opens this Sunday in Ottawa and a large delegation will attend for Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent CAO Don Shropshire says there are number of meetings with ministers planned to discuss a number of issues.

“There are particular issues each year which impact Chatham-Kent more directly than others,” Shropshire says. “The issues of Great Lake erosion, flooding and funding for infrastructure are of significant interest to us.”

Shropshire says the CK delegation will also be discussing the need for a twin pad and multi-sport complex with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

In all nine councillors, including Mayor Darrin Canniff, and seven senior administration officials will be attending the conference.
