West Nile has reared its ugly head in Chatham-Kent once again this summer.

For the second time, mosquitoes from a trap in Dresden have tested positive for the virus.

Public Health officials issued a similar alert just two weeks ago, and say most people won’t be affected, symptoms do include fever, headache, body aches and fatigue.

People with weak immune systems and the elderly may have more severe complications including stiff neck, nausea, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, and lack of co-ordination or paralysis.  Anyone with the sudden onset of these severe symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.

No human cases of the illness have been reported this year.
