Stay Safe on Slippery Roads

Chatham-Kent Police are reminding drivers to take it slow today with the first snowfall of the season.

Constable Renee Cowell says driving on snow-covered roads can be a challenge.

“Before you leave, clean off your windshield, windows, lights, and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly wearing their seat belt,” Cowell says. “The key to arriving at your destination safely is to drive according to the road and weather conditions.”

Meantime, Provincial Police have been kept busy with a number of collisions on the 401 today.

Authorities say reducing speed and increasing the distance between your vehicle and others around you will ensure you arrive at your destinations safely.
