The Chatham-Kent Police are offering a service for local snowbirds. 
If you’re heading down south, or north for that matter, you can let police know when and how long you’ll be gone, and who is keeping an eye on your place while you’re away.
Police say that info could be vital should they be called to your home.
Business owners can also register their commercial property if you have an alarm.
There is no cost to the program.
