Chatham-Kent Police had to use a taser on a male suspect who fled on foot after assaulting a female on Friday night.
Police responded to the disturbance in Chatham just before 6PM. Upon arrival, the male suspect was placed under arrest when he pulled away and fled the scene.
After a short foot pursuit, an officer caught the accused attempting to get into his car. The suspect continued to resist, resulting in the use of a taser.
The male suspect was then taken into custody and charged with assault, escape lawful custody and resist arrest. He was released pending a future court date.
