Canadian Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol seized more than 80 pounds of narcotics at the Sarnia – Port Huron border overnight Thursday.
Officials say suspected cocaine and fentanyl was found in the cab of a commercial tractor trailer.
The discovery was made during inspection as the Canadian driver was leaving the U.S. and crossing the Bluewater Bridge.
The truck was hauling a shipment of flavouring syrup from California.
The driver was arrested and faces federal prosecution for exporting illegal drugs. The investigation is ongoing.
