As COVID-19 cases trend upward in Ontario, Premier Doug Ford says phase 2 of a strategic testing plan is about to get underway.
He made the comments during his update this afternoon.
“In the coming days, what we’re going to do is we’re going to launch the next steps of our robust testing strategy. We’ll be going into hot spots, so communities that are lighting up on our map, and we’ll be encouraging people to get out there and get tested,” Ford explained.
He says these hot spots are mainly in the Greater Toronto Area and Windsor-Essex, but he encourages everyone – even if they’re asymptomatic – to get tested.
“We’ll be going into workplaces, into community areas with large numbers of people, large employers – we’re going to go in there and we want to encourage people in the hot spots to please get tested,” said Ford.
Meantime, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is offering asymptomatic risk-based testing at their COVID-19 Assessment Centre.
