A 25-year-old man of no fixed address was charged in connection to a shoplifting complaint at 7-Eleven on Grand Avenue in Chatham on Monday afternoon.
Police responded to the scene and located the suspect a short distance away before taking him into custody.
Police say this was not the first time the same suspect had stolen from the store.
The accused is charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released pending a future court date of July 29.
