Windsor Orders Masks On In An Effort To Escape Phase One

With Windsor-Essex stuck as the only municipality in Ontario left in phase one of the reopening they are stepping up their efforts.

The local public health unit has ordered mandatory usage of masks in all commercial businesses.

The move becomes official at  12:01 Friday morning.

This order covers all convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, malls and plazas.

There will be signs outside these businesses warning of the new policy.

The only exceptions will be children under 2, and medical or religious reasons.

The Premier has not allowed the move to phase 2 because of the cases of COVID-19 showing up in migrant workers in local food processing operations.
