The suds were flowing to celebrate Canada Day in Blenheim on Wednesday and also the official opening of the newest brewery in Chatham-Kent.

Red Barn Brewery opened it’s doors to the public for the first time and Co-Owner Denny Vervaet said it was just as they had hoped.

We are blown away, the line has been around the building since 8:30, there are people lined up on the road it has been non stop. People are happy just to come in here for the first time, just to experience and get our been now it’s been really incredible.”

He said some people have literally been counting the days till they finally opened the doors. “People said finally, we’ve seen it since ground zero. For someone to see it from sticks and stones to this and actually get to come in the room here. We see people buying mixed packs, and growlers and just want to taste everything”

It has been a long time in the making and along with his wife Sandy and brother-in-law Dan English they made their dream come true.

You can try their first batch ever made appropriately named..Batch 1 in growlers, or they have a selection in Farm Four cans.
