We usually think of homeless residents looking for shelter space when the weather turns cold, but it’s just the opposite in this case.
The temperatures and humidity have forced these residents inside at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.
The municipality had opened the temporary shelter at the start of the pandemic to help the homeless population go into isolation if necessary.
It was fortunately never needed to those levels, but has now become a cooling centre as well.
Many are staying at the facility 24/7.
