Chatham Woman Charged With Impaired In Fatal HWY 40 Crash From March

A 39-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with Impaired Driving in connection to a fatal two-vehicle collision just outside Wallaceburg in March.
The crash occurred on Highway 40 / St Clair Road between Border Road and Heritage Line, claiming the lives of an 87-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man, both from Sarnia.
Following an investigation, the OPP have charged the driver with two counts of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death, two counts of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death – Excessive Drug Concentration, two counts of Dangerous Operation Causing Death (two counts) and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in late August.
