The OPP is investigating a transport trailer fire on the 401 near Lakeshore just after midnight early Friday morning.
OPP, Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Lakeshore Fire Department responded to the fire in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Highway 77.
The lone occupant driver was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries related to smoke inhalation.
A partial lane closure of the westbound lanes for approximately four hours was necessary to complete the investigation and remove the vehicle. The highway has since reopened.
