More Lambton Mosquitoes Found With West Nile

Mosquitoes collected from a trap in Petrolia on August 19th have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

This is the second positive result in Lambton County this year but no positive human cases of the virus are active in the county.

Province-wide, two human cases of West Nile have been reported in Ontario.

Lambton Public Health continues to monitor for the spread of the virus, weekly mosquito traps are collected.

Residents are reminded to take precautions to prevent exposure to mosquitoes and to get rid of any breeding sites on their property.
