The clock is ticking on the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation 50/50 draw, and the jackpot is rising.
Foundation Executive Director Mary Lou Crowley says all proceeds benefit the hospital’s new urology services.
“It’s to purchase a C-Arm, which is a diagnostic imaging piece of equipment that our surgeons will be able to see real time,” Crowley explains. “When they’re doing their surgeries, they can see the image right there that allows them to see exactly what they’re working with.”
Money raised at the Foundation’s recent golf tournament is also going towards the new imaging equipment, which costs upwards of $200,000.
Crowley says it’s important to ensure the hospital is working with the best equipment.
“Last year, the holmium laser was our first piece and this year with the C-Arm, our urologist Dr Abdi is just delighted with that.”
Tickets for the 50/50 draw can be purchased online until 11 o’clock tomorrow morning.
Foundation staff will also be in front of the Chatham Holiday Inn until 5pm today.
Tune in to CKXS Wednesday at 1pm to hear the winning numbers as they’re drawn.
