Provincial COVID Cases Rise Again

Another jump in COVID cases across Ontario.

Health Minister Christine Elliot says there are 425 new cases today. 178 cases are now considered resolved, but two more people have died from the virus.

Toronto plays the biggest role in the spike with 175 confirmed positives, 84 in Peel, and 60 in Ottawa.

As has been the case the last few weeks, the majority of the new cases are in people under the age of 40.

A little closer to home, Windsor-Essex is reporting seven new cases of COVID-19 today, on top of nine other cases confirmed over the weekend.

Sarnia-Lambton has no new cases, with the number of patients self-isolating holding steady at two.

While Chatham-Kent Public Health doesn’t release its official figures until the afternoon, provincial stats show the municipality now has just one active case.
