Rescue efforts to find a missing Dutton man who vanished on Lake Erie last week have now turned into a recovery mission.
The OPP’s Marine Unit continues to search for 77-year-old Reginald Fisher, who went missing last Thursday after not returning from a sailing trip.
OPP recovered his abandoned sailboat on Friday.
Reports are now indicating a resident near Rondeau called in distress flares on the night Fisher went missing, thought to originate near Clearvillle. It’s believed the coast guard may have dismissed the flares for a second event near Port Burwell.
Fisher was last seen leaving the Port Glasgow area aboard his 14-foot sailboat last Thursday afternoon.
