C-K Hospice Thankful For Specialized Equipment Purchase
The Chatham-Kent Hospice recently received funding to purchase specialized patient transfer sheets.
The transfer sheet is a repositioning and lifting sheet used with our ceiling-mounted lift to support the resident and staff with positioning and transfers in a safe manner.
Thanks to local donations from the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors, Corteva Agriscience and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 642, six transfer sheets were purchased at the Hospice.
Executive Director Jodi Maroney says the Hospice is very thankful for the generous donations.
“Knowing we can safely assist our residents who are highly dependent and bed bound not only brings comfort to the resident but also to their family and it is a great support to our staff” Adds Chatham-Kent Hospice Care Manager Maureen Eyres.
The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation is responsible for the fundraising activities needed to support Chatham-Kent Hospice. Our Mission is to enhance the financial sustainability of the Chatham-Kent Hospice by working with the community to raise funds, awareness and understanding to enable compassionate, quality near end-of-life experiences for the residents of Chatham-Kent. We require $108,000 in donations each month to support the operating needs of the Hospice.
