The Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for the 23rd annual Business and Community Excellence Awards which will be hosted live on 99.1 CKXS from November 2nd to November 6th.
Nominations were anonymously voted on by the community for this year’s awards. The judging panel will be an array of external actors outside of the Wallaceburg and District area.
This year’s nominees are as follows (in alphabetical order):
Agricultural Award – Debot Farms Popcorn Barn, DVS Farms Ltd. (Dave VanSegbrook) and Whyte’s Food Inc.
Industrial Achievement – 1 Source Designs Ltd., North Element Inc., Select Finishing Ltd.
Technology Award – Aarkel Tool & Die Inc., Authier Print & Promotional Ltd., Deeply Creative
Environmental Award – Rottier Excavating, Sydenham Field Naturalists
Business of the Year – Anderson Law Group, Shoppers Drug Mart (30 McNaughton Ave), The Black Goose Grill
Entrepreneur of the Year – George Langstaff & Son’s Construction, Jamie Nicholson (Pet Valu), Krista Mall
Chip Gordon Community Builder – Mark Childs, Mark & Sarah’s No Frills (2 Warwick Dr.), Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre
Young Professional of the Year – Andrew Bourdeau, Justin Everaert, Shelby Pearce
Volunteer of the Year – Dorothy & Gordon Heath, Madison Hetherington (Clean Helping Hands CK), May 16 Miracle (Wallaceburg & Dresden Team)
Citizen of the Year – George Langstaff, Mark Childs, Harriet Marchand
Community Inclusion – Little Caesars, Select Finishing, Star Janitorial Services

Dresden BIA – Liz Kominek, Stewart Kiar, Tyler Ouellette
This event recognizes businesses and individuals in the Wallaceburg and District area. The Wallaceburg Chamber of Commerce is simply the host of the award ceremony and had no part in choosing the nominees or the winners of this event.
Greg Hetherington and Robyn Brady will co-host the Awards ceremonies live on 99.1 CKXS from 8:30 to 9 AM for the week of Monday, November 2nd to Friday November 6th
