The Lambton-Kent District School Board is reporting a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school community at Chatham-Kent Secondary School in Chatham.
47 students have been dismissed from the high school to quarantine due to potential exposure to the virus. The school remains open. Due to privacy considerations, no further information is being provided.
A note on the school board’s website reads as follows:
“Chatham-Kent Public Health has notified the Lambton Kent District School Board that there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Chatham Kent Secondary School community. Chatham-Kent Public Health is working closely with the school community and is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who may have been in potential contact with the virus.”
CK Public Health will only call close contacts of probable or confirmed cases. If you have not been contacted, you/your child have not been in close contact with a probable or confirmed case and do not need to be tested or isolate.
