The long arm of the law seems to have caught up with a serial thief.
Officers were called out to Sport Chek in Chatham yesterday afternoon after a man allegedly stole close to $370 worth of clothing.
The suspect was taken into custody a short distance away.
Authorities now say the same man is accused in both a bank robbery at the Royal Bank in downtown Chatham last week and other shoplifting incidents at local pharmacies.
The 40-year-old is charged with robbery, assault, three counts of theft, and two counts of possession of stolen property.
