This past year marked the 25th anniversary of the first Terry Fox run in Dresden and organizers of the run had a long list of events to celebrate.
Of course the pandemic meant the cancellation of most, and even the run was a virtual event in 2020.
But, the run in Dresden this year turned out to be the best ever.
Go figure in a pandemic, says organizer Cindy Brewer
“it was certainly a very difficult year for us to try and reach people, knowing that we couldn’t meet in person. We tried a lot of new things, we increased our social media presence, but when run day came we really didn’t know how we did because a lot of people were either donating on line, or sending their pledge sheets in by mail.”
They kept coming and as she points out the latest tally has the donations at $44,000, and that is a record.
