Holiday Weekend Brings More COVID Cases Across Ontario

The number of COVID cases province-wide continues to rise.

2005 new cases were reported on Sunday, that follows more than 2100 the previous two days.

Chatham-Kent Public Health hasn’t released any updated stats since Thursday, with 44 active cases, and one outbreak each in an institutional setting, school, and workplace.

Provincial health officials say the COVID-19 variant first reported in the UK has made its way into Ontario, with three cases reported over the last few days.

Two of the infected patients are in the Durham Region, just east of Toronto, and had been in contact with someone from the UK while the third, who recently returned from abroad, lives in the Ottawa area.
