Holiday Spike in CK COVID Cases

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent has jumped over the holidays.

Since the last update from CK Public Health on December 24th, there have been 42 new infections reported along with 23 resolved cases.

That leaves the total number of active cases at 63, up from 44 last Thursday.

One Chatham-Kent resident remains in hospital being treated for the virus. No word at this point on how many non-CK residents are being treated at CKHA.

Since the pandemic began, Chatham-Kent has seen a total of 650 infections with 584 cases resolved and three deaths.

The stats include three ongoing outbreaks, one each in an institutional setting, school, and workplace.

The provincial numbers aren’t being reported by the Ministry of Health today because of the delayed Boxing Day statutory holiday.
