CK’s Active COVID Case Load Dips Slightly

Despite 11 new cases of COVID-19 being reported in Chatham-Kent today, the number of active cases has dropped.

Public Health says 23 cases are now resolved, lowering the active caseload to 128, down 12 from yesterday.

There are 10 outbreaks in Chatham-Kent right now, six in un-named workplaces; one each at Riverview Gardens long term care facility, Copper Terrace, and Village on the Thames; as well as one outbreak in a congregate living setting.

Meantime, COVID-19 has claimed 17 more lives in Windsor-Essex. The Public Health Unit announced the grim statistic this morning, along with another 170 new cases of the virus in the community.

Lambton County has nine new cases today, bringing the total number active infections to 289.

Provincially, the Ministry of Health is reporting 3266 new infections and 37 additional lives lost to the virus.
