Chatham-Kent Public Health is investigating two more outbreaks of COVID-19 in area nursing homes.
Three residents at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg have now tested positive. An outbreak was first declared at the home on January 10th after a staff member came down with the virus. According to Public Health, there are now seven active cases at the facility.
There are also new outbreaks at Tilbury Manor and Chatham’s Meadow Park Nursing Home with one confirmed staff case in each nursing home.
According to Public Health, 42 more people have tested positive since the last update on Friday morning. Combined with almost two dozen recoveries, the number of active cases has risen to 103.
On the positive side, one of the ongoing workplace outbreaks has been cleared, and one local resident has been released from hospital, leaving three local COVID patients receiving care at the Health Alliance.
