Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg has released the new numbers in their battle against COVID-19 and the news is all good.
In terms of active cases, the number is down to 10 including 3 residents and 7 staff members.
The total number of cases at Fairfield Park is 98 dating back to January 10th.
With reduced numbers the Chatham-Kent vaccination team was able to go in on Saturday and give the first round of the Moderna vaccines to the residents who tested negative for the virus.
Tracey Maxim, the Administrator said in a statement “this year has been difficult for everyone in our community and especially difficult for our residents, their families and our staff. The vaccine is the glimmer of hope we have been waiting for and we look forward to being able to offer the vaccine to our staff and essential caregivers in the coming weeks. Finally, our staff continue to receive various tokens of appreciation and support, including individually wrapped meals, cards and emails. On Valentine’s Day we received individually wrapped carnations. This kind of support from our community and our families has made all the difference to our care team as we work toward our combined goal of ending this outbreak.”
