The St Clair Catholic District School Board is working on improving ventilation in its schools across the region.
The board of trustees has released its list of strategies, using $227,000 in provincial funding from last August to upgrade all school air filtration systems and hire a mechanical consultant to assess air distribution and existing equipment.
As well, the board is buying portable air conditioners and HEPA air purifier units for teaching areas with less than optimal air flow.
Meantime, another $227,000 was allocated earlier this month, and the board says a plan based on the mechanical consultant’s report has been submitted to the Ministry of Education for review.
