Slight Uptick in CK’s COVID Numbers

Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers are inching up again with 7 new cases today and one recovery, bringing the total active caseload to 46.

No change in the numbers associated with two outbreaks at the Health Alliance.

Windsor-Essex will be without its Chief Medical Officer for the next two weeks. The region’s public health unit announced this morning Dr. Wajid Ahmed is taking a two week leave of absence.

While not commenting on the reason for the leave, officials say the agency will be getting support from other public health units during Dr. Ahmed’s absence.

The region is reporting one more COVID-related death today along with 39 new cases.

Lambton County has 28 new infections today. Officials also say there are now nine cases of variants of concern in the region, including two connected to an outbreak at Brooke Central Public School.
