As predicted by municipal officials Chatham-Kent is dropping back to the Red control level of the provincial COVID-19 restrictions on Monday.
Dr. David Colby assumed this would happen with the rising numbers of positive cases around CK the past week.
Mayor Darrin Canniff knew it was coming and blames large gatherings.
“ Certainly I am not happy about it, nor is anyone happy about it. It gets back to, and we are in this as a community, when a few members of the community go off and do this it has repercussions right across the the whole community. It is very unfortunate that small business will be impacted by decisions that people have made to have these parties and spread this”.
The drop down from orange to red means more restrictions on indoor dining, and group get togethers.
The move to red goes into effect at 12:01 Monday morning.
