Public Health is continuing to open up the COVID vaccination process, now offering shots to anyone born in 1951 or earlier.
Officials say this age group of 70 and up includes a larger segment of Chatham-Kent’s population, so those calling to book an appointment are asked to be patient as it could take a few days for calls to be returned.
To help ease up demand on the phone lines, residents 70 years and over with a last name starting with A-M can call Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those with a last name starting with N-Z are asked to call Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Chatham-Kent Public Health is still using its own call centre rather than the provincial portal to book vaccination appointments – 519-351-1010.
