Active COVID Cases Drop, New Workplace Outbreak Declared

Chatham-Kent Public Health is investigating a new workplace outbreak of COVID-19. Officials say there are four confirmed cases, but aren’t releasing any other information, except to say the location is not open to the public.

The municipality’s total active caseload has dipped to 80 today with five new cases and 15 resolved. Officials say 45 cases involve variants of concern.

There are still three CK residents being treated for the virus at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. On Monday, CKHA said a fourth COVID-positive patient who lives outside of CK is also in care.

At the Lambton Kent District School Board, the outbreak at A.A. Wright Public is holding steady with five COVID cases. There’s one confirmed case associated with both Dresden Area Central and LKCS, two at AW Burgess in Chatham, and one connected to Tilbury Area Public School. WDSS has two student cases and one staff who have tested positive.

At the St Clair Catholic District School Board, UCC has three confirmed cases and two classes quarantining at home.

Two classes at Holy Family in Wallaceburg are in isolation in connection to three positive cases, and three classes have closed and switched to virtual learning at St Joseph in Tilbury.
