Another Workplace Outbreak Declared, Variant Cases Rise

Another workplace outbreak has been declared in Chatham-Kent. As is standard practice, CK Public Health doesn’t release the name or location of any business in outbreak that isn’t open to the general public.

One more local resident has been admitted to hospital with the virus.

There are now 50 cases involving variants of concern in Chatham-Kent – 4 of the UK variant, and 46 referred to as VOC-related mutations.

Around the region, Windsor has 54 new cases of the virus, while Lambton County is reporting 13 new cases.

The Ministry of Health says there have been 2333 new cases added today along with 15 more deaths linked to the virus.

Meantime, there are now 421 people being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units across the province, an all-time high.
