Ontario Prepares For A Month Long Shutdown

As expected, just in time for Easter, Ontario is headed back into a Shut down.

Premier Doug Ford followed through with his promise making the announcement this afternoon confirming the change of status.

“As Premier it falls on me. I am the one who has to make the tough decisions. Today I need to make one of those tough decisions. Ontario will pull the brake as all 34 public health regions will move into shut down for a period of 4 weeks. Friends, right now we are into a 3rd wave of COVID-19”

It’s called an emergency brake and was always there to use if the numbers of cases or patients in ICU got out of control and that seems to be the case.

The restrictions will be similar to grey-lockdown in the provinces COVID-19 response framework.

Again restaurants will not be open for indoor dining, just take out and delivery.

Grocery stores held to 50 per cent capacity while non essentials will be held to 25 per cent.

Indoor fitness centers and personal care businesses will be closed.

Schools are expected to continue next week, no guarantee following the spring break.

5 people max at indoor receptions.

This goes into effect at 12:01 am Saturday
