Community Living Chatham-Kent is joining other groups to demand clear protocols should Ontario hospitals need to move to a triage system.
We have heard stories from Europe in the last year where doctors were having to triage patients to determine the care. The patients with a better prognosis and fewer pre-existing conditions would get more advanced efforts and a better chance to survive.
Community Living Chatham-Kent has released a statement demanding to know the formula should Ontario reach that point, and it has been mentioned.
There is concern over a lack of consultation, and what that could mean for people with diverse abilities.
Community Living and other groups would like transparency in the process before it gets that far.
