June is Deafblind Awareness Month, and that has prompted a colourful national initiative to raise awareness of people living with this distinct condition.
Community Living Wallaceburg is joining with Sensity Canada for a project called Yarn Bombing.
It’s a form of tactile Street art where yarn that is knitted, crocheted, or wrapped decorates an object in a public place.
Each item symbolizes the coming together of people in celebration of deafblind awareness month.
You can help out by submitting 20 x 20 cm squares to Community Living Wallaceburg at 1100 Dufferin Ave. There will be a labelled drop off box in the main foyer.
Photos of your own yarn bombing space can be submitted to [email protected].
The deadline is May 31st with the CLW Yarn Bombing space being revealed on June 16th.
