The municipal information desks in the communities Bothwell, Thamesville and Wheatley have been closed since March of 2020.
In a report to council, administration said their plans for those three information desks is to keep them closed until at least this fall, after a service review of municipal services is complete.
Depending on the recommendation of the service review and council’s decision in the fall, it’s possible that Chatham-Kent will not permanently re-open those three municipal information desks.
Customer service representatives from the municipal information desks have been re-assigned to virtual call centre duties, mostly from a remote work location.
